Shop policies
All the items featured in my shop have been handmade by me (Sarah).
I source only the highest quality components from around the world to create unique and original designs; some classic and some fun and quirky.
I use an eclectic mix of beads and findings in my makes, so please make sure you read the item descriptions carefully so you're aware exactly what you're buying.
Materials used (and a bit about them…)
• Swarovski Crystals - I buy my Swarovski crystal beads from reputable sellers who only stock original Swarovski beads, not counterfeit.
• Gemstone beads – I source my gemstones from sellers throughout the world to bring together an interesting mix of colours, textures and stones.
• Lampwork Beads – I buy the vast majority of my Lampwork beads direct from their UK manufacturers; ensuring good quality and hardwearing beads.
• Sterling Silver – any item featured as sterling silver is exactly that and will be engraved 925 which means it is 92.5% pure silver. Note: smaller items (e.g. small silver beads and wires used to make jewellery) are not engraved as they fall below the legal weight limit for marking and are generally too small to mark anyway.
• Silver/Gold Plated – any component featured as metal plated is purchased from a reputable wholesaler, ensuring that the metal content complies with current E.U. legislation regarding low nickel content.
. Surgical Steel - suitable for sensitive ears.
• Karen Hill Tribe and Bali silver – sourced direct from the manufacturer in Thailand; this silver is purer than sterling silver (around 95-99% pure silver) and is not usually engraved or hallmarked.
• Faux Pearls – faux pearls are NOT real pearls, but are made from glass.
• Freshwater Pearls – are sourced from reputable sellers and are cultured or manufactured in an artificial environment.
. Silver tone ~ if something is described as silver tone this is usually either silver plate or Tibetan silver.
SEA GLASS ~ all the sea glass featured in my jewellery has either been gathered by me or other reputable collectors. The origin of each piece of sea glass will be given in the listing.
Jewellery Care
• Unfortunately all silver jewellery is prone to tarnishing so when you’re not wearing your jewellery it’s a good idea to store items in grip seal bags. This protects them from the air and reduces oxidisation and tarnishing.
• Keeping items in separate bags also prevents damage or scratching from items rubbing against one another.
• If you keep your items in a jewellery box add a piece of white chalk as this will absorb some moisture.
• Wrapping items in acid-free tissue paper will also reduce the chances of tarnishing and oxidisation.
• Perspiration, perfume, household cleaning products and cosmetics all cause damage to silver.
• Regular cleaning with a polishing cloth is recommended to prolong the life of your jewellery.
• Always remove your jewellery before bathing, doing dishes, washing up or doing housework.
